New development should fund the roads, water, and community infrastructure it creates demand for — not get grandfathered in while existing residents absorb the cost. I'll push for development charges and phasing that keep pace with what's actually being built.
Families in North Dumfries are bussing kids well outside the township for high school. As the township grows, I'll advocate directly with the school board and the Region for a site and a timeline — not another decade of “it's under review.”
Rural roads, culverts, and intersections don't get safer by themselves. I want a public, multi-year capital plan for road and infrastructure work — so residents can see what's getting fixed, and when, instead of finding out after the fact.
Density belongs somewhere in this township — it doesn't have to erase what makes each village distinct. I'll push for planning decisions that protect the character of Ayr, Branchton, Roseville, and Washington as separate places, not one sprawling suburb.
I am an Experienced Senior IT Engineer working at a manufacturing company in Elmira, and I’ve called North Dumfries home for almost three years. As a resident who drives Northhumberland Street , Swan Street and Trussler road every day and shops in Ayr, I’m running for council because I want our growing township to keep the small-town feel that brought us here—safe streets, reliable services, and decisions made with everyday residents in mind. My experience managing complex systems and infrastructure means I’m used to solving problems, planning long-term, and making sure things work in real life, not just on paper.
My decision to run grew out of everyday conversations with neighbours about speeding on our roads, snow clearing, and the lack of reliable public transit connecting Ayr and the rest of the region. Right now, too many residents – especially seniors, students, and families with one car – struggle to get to work, school, and appointments without driving or paying for taxis, and that needs to change. When we chose to move here, we were promised a community where growth would come with parks, paths, services and transit that keep pace; I want to help council deliver on that promise. I already spend time helping friends and neighbours with their home technology and networks, and I want to bring that same practical, problem-solving mindset to the transit and infrastructure decisions that affect us every day.
